LANXESS builds on nearly 100 years of experience and knowledge with synthetic rubber and rubber chemicals. Ultimately, as a predecessor in the area known today as performance rubber, in 1909 Bayer scientists invented and patented the first synthetic rubber.
LANXESS customers - tire producers and manufacturers of technical rubber articles - create high performance finished products from synthetic rubber. Our rubber products are utilized, for example, in cars, car tires, construction, sport shoes, the electronic industry and even in the space shuttle.
